Indore, May 18 (Commodities Control): The arrival of Kapas in the mandis of Madhya Pradesh decreased on Saturday, the last trading day of the week, with arrivals down by 200 bales compared to Friday. The state witnessed Kapas arrivals ranging from 900 to 1,000 bales, each weighing 170 kg. Despite this decline, Kapas prices have remained stable.
The average price of Kapas in Madhya Pradesh is holding steady between Rs 6,300 to Rs 7,400 per quintal. Cottonseed prices also remained stable, quoted at Rs 2,750 to Rs 3,000 per quintal.
Cotton candy prices in Madhya Pradesh are stable as well. The price for 29 mm 75 RD cotton is unchanged at Rs 56,500 to Rs 57,000 per candy, each candy weighing 356 kg, while the price for 28.5 mm cotton is stable at Rs 55,900 to Rs 56,300 per candy.
However, over the past week, cotton candy prices have declined by Rs 500. On May 11, 2024, the price of 29 mm 75 RD cotton candy ranged from Rs 57,000 to Rs 57,500. Today, it stands at Rs 56,500 to Rs 57,000.
Meanwhile, cottonseed prices have seen a slight increase of Rs 50 over the past week. On May 11, cottonseed prices were Rs 2,700 to Rs 2,950 per quintal, whereas on May 18, they were quoted at Rs 2,750 to Rs 3,000 per quintal. The average prices of cotton have not changed over the past week.
