Jaipur, 25 May (Commoditiescontrol) Mustard seed prices dropped in the market of Jaipur on Saturday due to weak demand at higher level broadly caused by bearish tone in the prices of oil and cake.
Meanwhile, HAFED is going to sell over 21,000 tonnes of mustard seed from its stocks through auctions which will begin on May 29, as per the sources.
The agency will sell mustard seed from the warehouses located at Sirsa, Fatehabad and Narnaul.
This news also weakened the sentiment of the mustard seed complex. However, traders were of the view that prices of mustard seed and its products had risen considerably this week after which buying activities were down.
The tracking activities also remained affected in Delhi and Haryana where polling for Lok Sabha elections is going on today.
Prices of mustard seed with 42% conditioned fell Rs 50 to Rs 6150-6175 per quintal (excluding GST), in the benchmark market of Jaipur.
Mustard oil expeller prices dropped Rs 20 to Rs 1057-1058 per 10kg. Kachchi Ghani prices also declined Rs 20 to 1167-1168 per 10kg. Mustard cake prices dropped Rs 25 to Rs 2870-2875 per quintal in Jaipur.
Total arrivals of mustard seed were around 7 lakh bags across the country. Arrivals of mustard seed were around 4 lakh bags in Rajasthan, 75,000 bags in Madhya Pradesh, 75,000 bags in Uttar Pradesh, 25,000 bags in Punjab and Haryana and 25,000 bags in Gujarat. The major markets of states received around 80,000 bags of mustard seed.
