Vegetable Oil Exports: In the first half of the 2023/2024 season, exports of vegetable oils from Russia surged by 22% compared to the previous season, totaling 3.43 million tons. Sunflower oil exports saw a notable increase of 29%, reaching 2.30 million tons, with India and China as the primary buyers.
Soybean Oil and Rapeseed Oil Exports: Soybean oil exports rose by 10% to 401 thousand tons, with Algeria and India leading in purchases. Rapeseed oil exports increased by 9% to 723 thousand tons, predominantly shipped to China.
Oilseed Exports: Oilseed exports in the same period increased by 2% to 2.26 million tonnes. Sunflower seed exports surged by 2.7 times to 242 thousand tons, with Kazakhstan and Turkey being the main buyers. Soybean exports, however, decreased by 25% to 685 thousand tons, with China as the primary buyer.
Meal Exports: Vegetable meal exports surged by 38% to 2.09 million tons, led by a 32% increase in sunflower meal exports and a remarkable 105% increase in soybean meal exports. Rapeseed meal exports also saw a modest increase of 12%. China, Belarus, and Turkey were among the top buyers in this category.
