Ahmedabad, March 11 (Commoditiescontrol): Groundnut arrivals are surging across Gujarat, leading to a slight price decline. Today, G20 quality groundnut prices fell by Rs 5-10 per 20 kg, while BT-32 quality remained stable.
Meanwhile, old groundnut stocks from Uttar Pradesh (Jhansi) and Rajasthan continue flooding the Gujarat market. Daily arrival in Bikaner mandi is about 25,000-30,000 bags daily, and Jhansi mandi is 15,000-20,000 bags. Increased supply from both states is contributing to downward price pressure.
Rajasthan's groundnut supply is primarily of the 'chuga' variety, best suited for blending in crushing to produce lower-quality oils. This Bikaner groundnut is generally unsuitable for crushing elsewhere.
Specific mandi data for Gondal and Rajkot highlight the trend. Gondal mandi received 14,330 bags (1 bag = 35kg), with average quality fetching Rs 1186-1236 and top quality reaching Rs 1211-1321 per 20 kg. In Rajkot, 10,000 bags arrived, realizing average prices of Rs 1045-1237 per 20 kg, and top prices between Rs 1070-1292 per 20 kg. Approximately 30,000 bags of groundnut entered various Saurashtra mandis today.
