MUMBAI, April 11 (Commoditiescontrol): Anec, a group of grain exporters, has increased its estimate for Brazilian soy meal exports in April to 2.09 million tonnes. This adjustment reflects a change in demand from Argentina to Brazil, where drought has disrupted supplies and soybean crushing this season.
Last week, Anec's projection for soy meal exports in April was 1.86 million tonnes. Anec's data shows that Brazil exported 1.82 million tonnes in April of last year.
The country is also expected to export 14.38 million tonnes of soybeans in April, higher than last week's estimate of 13.74 million tonnes. If this expectation is met, April's soybean exports will surpass the 11.36 million tonnes exported in the same month last year due to the record crop harvested in 2022/2023.
Anec has also projected a decrease in corn exports, with Brazil expected to sell around 207,000 tonnes this month to customers abroad, compared to about 942,000 tonnes in April 2022.
