Cumin Spot Prices Hold Steady Amid Subdued Demand

Ahmedabad, May 9 (CommoditiesControl): The cumin market in Gujarat exhibited stability today, with prices maintaining a steady stance. Traders note that after witnessing a rising trend over the past several days, cumin prices remained unchanged today. Limited local demand contributed to the absence of major fluctuations in prices, with the market's future trend depends upon demand in markets.

In Unjha Mandi, around 25,000 sacks of cumin arrivals were reported today. Rough cumin was priced at Rs 4100-4400 per 20 kg, while the best quality commanded prices of Rs 4900-5200 per 20 kg. Bombay Bold variety was quoted at Rs 5200-6000 per 20 kg. The total arrival of cumin in the state reached around 55,000 bags.

In Gondal Mandi, prices ranged from Rs 5121-5301 per 20 kg against the arrival of 1436 bags. Similarly, in Rajkot Mandi, where around 4000 bags arrived, prices were negotiated between Rs 4500-5286 per 20 kg.




Jeeraunjha contract for MAY delivery settled at Rs 25895/quintal showing an fall of Rs -605 over previous close of Rs 26500/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 25625-26695 for the day. Open interest decreased by -375 MT to 699 MT, while trading volume increased by 462 to 1269 MT.

Jeeraunjha contract for JUN delivery settled at Rs 25225/quintal showing an fall of Rs -155 over previous close of Rs 25380/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 24930-25670 for the day. Open interest increased by 315 MT to 2937 MT, while trading volume increased by 165 to 2490 MT.

Jeeraunjha contract for JUL delivery settled at Rs 25500/quintal showing an fall of Rs -205 over previous close of Rs 25705/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 25300-25700 for the day. Open interest was simillar by 0 MT to 12 MT, while trading volume decreased by -12 to 0 MT.

Currently The spread between MAY and JUN contract is 670 Rs/quintal

Currently The spread between JUN and JUL contract is -275 Rs/quintal.

Currently The spread between MAY and JUL contract is 395 Rs/quintal.
