Kabuli Prices Stable in Madhya Pradesh Mandis Amid Increased Arrival

Mumbai, 09 May 2024 (Commoditiescontrol): Madhya Pradesh's major mandis maintained steady tone in Kabuli prices on Thursday, due to sluggish buying and increased arrivals arrival. Indore market received 5,200 quintals, up 1,450 quintals. Despite the increase in arrivals, Kabuli prices were quoted at Rs 8,800 per quintal with an increase of Rs 800 from lower level. At the upper level, there was a fall of Rs 300 due to which the price remained at Rs 10550 per quintal.

According to traders, the price of red fine mix was Rs 8,800 to Rs 8980 per quintal. The price of running goods, which contains 30 to 40 percent red and mostly fine grains, was Rs 9,300 to Rs 9,500 per quintal. The price of general which contains 10 to 20 percent thick grains, 25 to 30 percent medium and 10 to 20 percent red grains was Rs 9,500 to 10,000. The price of best quality was Rs 10,090 to 10,400 per quintal. The price of best high quality chickpea was Rs 10,550 per quintal.

Arrival of 23,000 quintals of Kabuli gram has been reported in the markets of Madhya Pradesh. The arrival in Dhamnod mandi was 4,770 quintals. The price remained at the lowest level of Rs 8,505 per quintal. However, at the upper level, the price of chickpea fell by Rs 260 and reached Rs 10,380 per quintal.

In Dhar Mandi the price of Kabuli gram was 6500 to 9765, in Shajapur 6020 to 9010, in Anjad 8220 to 10560 and in Timarni Mandi the price of Kabuli gram was Rs 7001 to 7920 per quintal.

Experts indicate weak demand from exporters for Kabuli gram. Local traders attribute price fluctuations to the lack of sustainability at higher levels and anticipate subdued domestic demand due to the month-long pause in the wedding season.
