Ahmedabad, April 26 (CommoditiesControl): The cumin market in the state witnessed sluggish activity today, with around 15,000 bags arriving from across Gujarat, keeping prices stable. Export data revealed a notable increase, with 11,882.46 metric tonnes exported from the country in February 2024, compared to 11,362.19 metric tonnes exported during the same period last year.

Notably, Unja Mandi, the primary arrival center for cumin in the state, remained closed today due to the Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan. The majority of workers in Unja Mandi hail from Rajasthan, leading to the holiday closure.

In Gondal Mandi, prices ranged from Rs 4351-4511 per 20 kg in front of the arrival of 1057 bags. Meanwhile, in the Rajkot market, approximately 1200 bags arrived, with prices ranging from Rs 3800-4500.

The stability in prices and subdued market activity reflect the current dynamics of the cumin market, influenced by both domestic factors and external market conditions.
