Mumbai, May 8 (Commodities Control): In the domestic market, clove prices remained steady, with Kottayam showed stability. Imported clove prices in Kottayam held firm, ranging from Rs. 840 to Rs. 860 per kilogram for Comoros origin, Rs. 850 to Rs. 870 for Madagascar origin, and Rs. 850 to Rs. 880 for Sri Lankan origin.

Notably, domestic clove prices in Kottayam have maintained stability over the past fortnight, fluctuating between Rs 900 and Rs 920 per kilogram. The influx of higher imports has bolstered supply, potentially influencing domestic market prices. However, expectations suggest that sharp increases in other spice prices, such as pepper and cardamom, may help stabilize clove prices.

Meanwhile, in Shimoga, the price per kilogram remained unchanged from the previous session, ranging between Rs. 920 and Rs. 940. Additionally, clove stems retained their previous pricing at Rs. 125 per kilogram in Kottayam.
