MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - Government pulses procurement including kharif-rabi marketing season (2015-16 and 2016-17) and imports now totaled at 19.08 lakh tonnes, according to exclusive data received from Ministry of Food and Public Distribution.
The government agencies as on April 18 has procured 14.98 lakh tonnes of from domestic market, whereas rest 3.79 lakh tonnes was procured through imports by MMTC and STC.
According to the department around 0.96 lakh tonnes of pulses was disposed, including 0.38 lakh tonnes of chana disposed through e-Auction. Government has liquidated 0.78 lakh tonnes of pulses before March 10, 2017 and 0.18 lakh tonnes so far (April 18) since March 10.
