MUMBAI (Commmoditiescontrol) - Coriander arrivals in Kota, Ramgunjmandi and Baran markets during the week stood at 33,300 bags.
The modal price of Badami variety fluctuated in between INR 65-66 per kg levels. Arrivals declined compared to previous week due to recent heavy rainfall on account of VAYU cyclone.
Export scenario
India exported 8964 MT of coriander during first three months of 2019 as compared to 6548 MT in the same period last year, an increase of 36.9%. Similarly, the price was 6-8% lower compared to 2018 which attracted the destinations to import Indian coriander.
Malaysia remained the major importer accounted for about 32% of the total quantity exported from India. Apart from that, during March 2019, when price declined sharply, Pakistan imported about 1158 MT of coriander as compared to 78 MT imported to during the same month previous year.

Import scenario
Coriander import in India during the first three months of 2019 stood at around 400-450 MT (February import accounted for about 90% of the total) as compared to 6640 MT imported in same period last year. Import price of Russian coriander during February 2019 stood at USD 1011 per MT as compared to USD 464 per MT in the same month last year.
However, July 2019 Russian coriander import tender to India is fluctuating at around USD 850-880 per MT which may decline further in coming days as the harvest in Russia is likely to start from July.
Rainfall status
Rajasthan received excess rainfall during third week of June 2019 due to Vayu cyclone. Henceforth, the arrivals in the physical markets declined.
