MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - The central government has fixed support prices of medium staple length cotton and long staple length cotton of new crop (2015-16) of fair average quality (FAQ).
The support price for medium staple length cotton has been fixed at Rs 3,800/100kg and long staple length cotton has been fixed at Rs 4,100/100kg.
Based on the support prices of these two basic classes of kapas and taking into account the quality differential, the government has fixed support prices for other varieties of kapas of FAQ for 2015-16 as under:
Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) and Nafed would continue to be the nodal agency for procurement of kapas.
