MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - Guarseed arrivals in the country during the month of March dropped 25% at 3.90 lakh bags (100kg each) year-on-year due to lower production estimates and slow farmers selling at the lower level, according to data compiled by CC from traders.
Guarseed supply in the spot market up to February of this season (2017-18), started from October stood at 44.4 lakh bags, down 12.86% from 50.95 lakh bags a year ago.
The lower arrivals in the mandis were also weighed by financial year closing.
According to trade estimates, Guarseed production this season could be around 5 lakh tonnes compared to 8 lakh tonnes a year ago.
