NEW DELHI (Commoditiescontrol) - The country's oilmeal exports fell by 56 percent to 114,972 tonnes in June from 263,163 tonnes during the same month a year ago, an industry body said on Friday.
The overall export of oilmeals during April-June 2019, reported at 571,325 tonnes, down 24 percent from 751,158 tonnes in April-June 2018, the Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA) said in a statement.
As per the SEA data, in the first three months of this fiscal, soyabean meal exports dropped to 112,286 tonnes from 248,378 tonnes in the year-ago period.
Similarly, the shipment of rapeseed meal exports fell to 247,772 tonnes from 323,282 tonnes, while that of rice bran extraction declined to 57,580 tonnes from 236,712 tonnes in the same period last year. Groundnut meal export also fell sharply to 91 tonnes from 1,769 tonnes in the said period.
However, castorseed meal exports rose to 153,596 tonnes in April-June this year, mainly exported to South Korea, compared to 41,017 tonnes in the year-ago period.
South Korea, France, Vietnam, Thailand and Taiwan remained major export destinations for oilmeal exports.
