MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) – India oilmeal exports during FY 2017-18 (Apr-Mar) rose 51% at 28.39 lakh tonnes from 18.85 lakh tonnes a year ago thanks to higher export of rapeseed meal, ricebran extraction and castor meal, said the Solvent Extractors’ Association of India (SEA).
“Government raised the import duty on edible oils by 12.5% to 15% across the board and increased MEIS on soybean meal to 7% from 5%. This steps also supported the export of oilmeal resulted in to larger export of oilmeals during current year,” said B.V Mehta, Executive Director, SEA.
