CAB: Indian Cotton Production Higher 9% in 2017/18

MUMBAI(Commoditiescontrol): The Cotton Advisory Board(CAB) estimates cotton production higher 9.3 percent at 377 lakh bales of 170kg each in 2017/18 season.

The First Meeting of Cotton Advisory Board for the Cotton Season 2017-18 was held today i.e. on 12.12.2017 under the Chairpersonship of Dr. Kavita Gupta, Textile Commissioner of India, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Representatives from Central Govt., State Govt., Textile Industry, Cotton Trade and Ginning & Pressing Sector attended the meeting.

The Cotton scenario was deliberated, also State-wise Area, Production, Import, Export and Consumption of Cotton were discussed.

The Cotton Production and the Balance Sheet drawn by the Cotton Advisory Board for the Cotton Season 2016-17 and 2017-18 was decided as below:
