MUMBAI(Commoditiescontrol) – India cotton shipments during the first eleven months of 2016-17 marketing year, started from October 2016, rose 4 percent to 65.30 lakh bales. Last year, the same period shipment totalled at 62.87 lakh bales.

Shipments was significantly higher during the month of August to 1.46 lakh bales compared to same month last year at 0.7 lakh bales while inched lower 2 percent from 1.49 lakh bales during July, according to data collated from textile beacon.

Major cotton was exported to Bangladesh at 1.31 lakh bales, claiming nearly 90 percent of the total export volume followed by Vietnam at 0.04 lakh bales and Indonesia at 0.03 lakh bales.
