MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in its weekly crop progress report for the week ended 29th November, 2015 stated that around 80 percent of U.S. cotton crop has been harvested, higher than 70 percent last week but behind five year average of 88 percent.
The report showed that around 55 percent of the crop is rated good/excellent compared to 53 percent during the last week.
The USDA said this weekly report is the final crop progress for 2015/16 season. Next crop progress report would be released on 4th April, 2016, it informed.
Meanwhile, regular harvest activity in Texas, key producer, has been disrupted due to saturated fields. Last week, weather forecaster said harvest activity in the week would be disturbed due to unfavorable weather conditions.
