New Delhi (Commoditiescontrol) - Crop sowing in ongoing kharif season in Uttar Pradesh covered more than more than state government’s target. Improved monsoon intensified sowing in the first half of this month. All the crops except paddy and soybean sowing achieved the target set by the government for the kharif crop year 2015-16.
The Agriculture Department of Uttar Pradesh released its kharif crops sowing data on August 18,2015. As per the data, total kharif crops acreage was around 95.91 lakh hectares, as of August 14,2015 while the government’s target for the season is at 95. 17 lakh hectares.
Good rainfall was observed in most parts of Uttar Pradesh recently which intensified the pace of sowing in the state and the farmers heaved a sigh of relief as the kharif crops sowing report was poor last week in UP.
