MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) – Cotton arrivals in the country as on November 12 stood at 20.88 lakh bales (170kg), according to most recent data released by the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI).
Cotton arrivals in North India stood at 9.30 lakh bales, while central and south India received supply of 8.15 lakh bales and 3.42 lakh bales respectively.
The daily cotton arrivals in the country till this season averaged at 48,574 bales (including Sunday and other holidays).
India’s 2018-19 cotton crop is estimated at 343 lakh bales versus 365 lakh bales in 2017-18, according to Cotton Association of India (CAI).
Cotton Advisory Board (CAB) usually release cotton crop estimates, however it has yet to convene meeting with stakeholders to come out with output numbers.
