MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) – Soybean crop in Madhya Pradesh is likely to rise sharply by 26.5% year-on-year at 67.31 lakh tonnes, according to first kharif advance estimates released by the state agriculture department.
Madhya Pradesh is the largest producer of soybean in the country.
The key crops grown in Madhya Pradesh during Kharif are Paddy and Maize and output of these crops pegged 10.10% and 5.24% higher at 80.43 lakh tonnes and 49.25 lakh tonnes respectively.
Among pulses, urad production is expected to decline by 1.1% year-on-year at 17.25 lakh tonnes, while moong crop is estimated 24.55% lower at 6.33 lakh tonnes.
Cotton output in the state is likely to rise 14.17% at 10.88 lakh bales (170kg) versus 9.53 lakh bales last year.
