Rajasthan 2018-19 First Adv Est: Guarseed Production Seen Higher By 43% Y/Y At 17.78 LT

MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) – Guarseed production in Rajasthan is likely to rise nearly 43% year-on-year at 17.78 lakh tonnes, according to the first kharif advance estimates released by the state agriculture department.

Along with Guarseed, production of oilseeds has also pegged sharply up amid higher sowing and better yield.


Among oilseeds, soybean output is estimated at 14.74 lakh tonnes, up 37.82% from 10.70 lakh tonnes a year ago, while castor seed and sesamum crop pegged higher by 70.04% and 72.63% at 2.86 lakh tonnes and 1.17 lakh tonnes against previous year.


Among pulses, moong production is expected to surge by 23.87% year-on-year at 12.09 lakh tonnes, while urad crop is pegged 5.2% lower at 4.96 lakh tonnes.
