MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - India edible oil imports up to April 2018 of current oil marketing year started from November (2017-18) stood at 71.46 lakh tonnes, up 2.11% from 69.98 lakh tonnes during the same period a year ago, said the Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA) in a release.
The total vegetable oils (edible and non-edible oils) imports during April-November totalled at 73.18 lakh tonnes versus 71.38 lakh tonnes last year.
The share of palm oil (including RBD palmolein, CPO and CPKO) in total edible oil import increased by 64% at 45.74 lakh tonnes during November-April as against 62% at 43.06 lakh tonnes previous year, while share of soft oil reduced to 36% at 25.72 lakh tonnes versus 38% at 26.92 lakh tonnes a year ago.
