Ahmedabad, January 24 (Commoditiescontrol): Groundnut arrivals in Saurashtra were estimated at 60,000 bags today, with Rajkot mandi contributing 35,000 bags. Prices remained steady due to a lack of improvement in the groundnut oil market.

The Gujarat government has procured approximately 9 lakh tonnes of groundnuts so far and aims to complete the remaining procurement within 15 days in designated areas. The total procurement target is 11 lakh tonnes. Market participants are closely watching price trends to assess future direction.

In Gondal mandi, arrivals were around 18,000 bags, with trades for 16,380 bags. Average-quality groundnuts were priced at ₹1,060–1,185 per 20 kg, while best-quality groundnuts fetched ₹1,105–1,195 per 20 kg.
In Rajkot mandi, arrivals stood at 35,000 bags, with trades recorded for 13,000 bags. Average-quality groundnuts traded at ₹925–1,225 per 20 kg, and best-quality groundnuts were priced between ₹900–1,150 per 20 kg.

In North Gujarat, the following mandi updates were reported:

Deesa mandi: Arrivals of 1,087 bags, with prices at ₹1,010–1,125 per 20 kg.
Panthawada mandi: Arrivals of 980 bags, with prices at ₹1,000–1,330 per 20 kg.
Palanpur mandi: Arrivals of 1,268 bags, with prices at ₹1,040–1,120 per 20 kg.
Himmatnagar mandi: Arrivals of 2,500 bags, with prices at ₹1,170–1,450 per 20 kg.

Steady prices reflect muted demand in the groundnut oil market, keeping the broader sentiment cautious. Analysts expect further clarity as procurement activities progress and market fundamentals evolve.
