New Delhi, January 18 (Commodities Control): Cotton prices remained stable in Karnataka markets on Saturday due to limited demand from spinning mills, while daily arrivals of Kapas in the state's markets decreased.
According to traders, local demand for yarn is fine, but export demand is weak, so spinning mills have to trade at limited margins. On the other hand, CCI is selling the cotton purchased for the crop season 2023—24 in the domestic market and in the current season also, the corporation has a huge stock of cotton, which will be sold in the coming days. Therefore, the spinning mills of the state are purchasing cotton only as per the requirement. Along with Kapas, the prices of cottonseed have become stable in the state.
On Saturday, the arrival of Kapas in the state's mandis was 8,000 bales, one bale weighed 170 kg, while on the previous trading day, the arrival was 10,000 bales
