New Delhi, January 18 (Commodities Control): Cotton prices in the markets of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana displayed a mixed trend on Saturday, continuing the pattern from the previous day. This was due to limited demand from spinning mills, and daily arrivals of Kapas in both states stood unchanged.

In Andhra Pradesh, cotton prices remained stable, while in Telangana, cotton prices declined for the second consecutive day. Traders indicated that the global cotton market’s low prices are affecting domestic prices, with exports not appearing profitable at the moment.

Additionally, large quantities of cotton have already been imported in the current season, which has led mills to avoid increasing their inventory. This has further contributed to the subdued demand. The prices of Kapas and cottonseed remained stagnant in both states as well.

Today, the arrival of Kapas in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana was reported at 43,500 bales, with 40,000 bales arriving in Telangana markets and 3,500 bales in Andhra Pradesh markets. This is the same number of bales that arrived on the previous trading day.

Overall, cotton prices in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are likely to remain under pressure due to weak demand from mills and limited movement in the global market, with arrivals showing no significant changes for now.
