New Delhi, January 18 (Commodities Control): Cotton prices in Maharashtra remained stable on Saturday, with weak sales by ginners at lower prices preventing any significant movement. At the same time, daily arrivals of Kapas in the state's mandis remained steady.

Cotton prices had softened in Maharashtra on Friday, but due to ginners being unwilling to sell cotton at lower prices, the market saw stability today. Experts noted that global cotton prices have recently fallen, putting downward pressure on domestic prices as well.

Despite this, spinning mills are facing limited stock of cotton, which could drive the need for purchases once demand for cotton yarn picks up. As a result, the market is expected to see some activity in the near future as mills replenish their inventories.

In addition to cotton, the prices of cottonseed remained stable in Maharashtra.

Today's arrival of Kapas in Maharashtra's producing mandis was reported at 50,000 bales, which was the same as the previous trading day.
