New Delhi, December 6 (Commodities Control): Wheat prices traded steady to firm across major centers today, buoyed by positive market sentiment following stronger-than-expected bidding in the latest auction. However, Delhi prices saw a correction as buyers showed caution at higher rates.
Regional Price Trends (₹/Quintal)
- Delhi: Down by ₹50 to ₹3,100.
- Uttar Pradesh (UP): Up by ₹20 to ₹2,980.
- Madhya Pradesh (MP): Up by ₹10 to ₹2,960.
- Gujarat: Up by ₹20 to ₹2,970.
- Rajasthan: Up by ₹20 to ₹2,980.
- Bihar: Up by ₹20 to ₹2,970.
- Kolkata: Up by ₹20 to ₹3,180.
- South India: Steady at ₹3,340.
Buyers were active across major centers, although physical supplies remain limited at current price levels. This constrained availability continues to support firm price trends.
The Food Corporation of India (FCI) has announced the same allocation of 1 lakh tons for the next auction scheduled on December 11. Most states will see similar quantities up for bidding, with unchanged terms and conditions.
With auction quantities remaining limited and demand persisting, wheat prices are expected to trade steady to firm in the near term. However, regions like Delhi may experience intermittent corrections as buyers adjust to higher price levels.
