MUMBAI, 9 Sep (Commoditiescontrol): Peanut-producing regions in Saurashtra are seeing the new peanut crop maturing, with traders anticipating increased selling activity in the coming days. Market experts suggest that if the weather remains dry and sunny this week, new peanut arrivals could reach approximately 2,000 bags across various markets by the end of the week.

Despite the expected increase in arrivals, peanut prices remained steady today due to limited demand. Traders noted that new crop arrivals are expected to start soon in Halvad mandi, with smaller quantities arriving from the Savarkundla region. Meanwhile, Rajkot and Gondal markets are likely to see a rise in supplies. However, the new crop is currently characterized by higher moisture content, and arrivals are expected to gradually increase from next week onwards.

In Gondal mandi today, 7,397 bags of peanuts were reported. Prices for average-quality peanuts ranged from ₹1,071 to ₹1,146 per 20 kg, while best-quality peanuts traded between ₹1,101 and ₹1,171 per 20 kg. For the new crop, 316 bags were traded, with prices ranging from ₹936 to ₹1,200 per 20 kg.

Rajkot mandi received around 4,500 bags, with average-quality peanuts priced between ₹1,050 and ₹1,161 per 20 kg, and best-quality peanuts fetching between ₹1,070 and ₹1,231 per 20 kg. Overall, peanut arrivals across Saurashtra were estimated at 13,000 to 14,000 bags.
