MUMBAI, 10 Aug (Commoditiescontrol): Peanut prices have shown a consistent increase for the second consecutive day, with a rise of Rs 5-10 per 20 kg, driven by renewed demand for peanut oil. The market received support as loose peanut oil was traded at Rs 1,500 per 10 kg. Traders attribute the price improvement to the rising demand for peanut oil, which has led to an increase in peanut prices by Rs 25-40 per 20 kg over the past two days.
In today's Gondal market, out of approximately 4,000 bags that arrived, 3,910 bags were traded. The price for average quality peanuts ranged between Rs 1,101 and Rs 1,161 per 20 kg, while the best quality peanuts were priced between Rs 1,141 and Rs 1,321 per 20 kg.
In Rajkot market, around 1,800 bags were received today. The price for average quality peanuts ranged between Rs 1,090 and Rs 1,180 per 20 kg, while the best quality peanuts were priced between Rs 1,080 and Rs 1,227 per 20 kg. Across the entire Saurashtra region, approximately 7,000-8,000 bags of peanuts were received.
