Jaipur (Commodities Control) - Spot coriander registered drop in prices on the Day one of the week in Rajasthan. Reduced exporters’ demand is attributed as the prime reason behind the fall. Meanwhile weather conditions have changed as some light showers were witnessed in Bharatpur, Jaipur and Alwar region.

Apart from Rajasthan, mandis of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh have been witnessing consistent arrivals of new coriander crops. Gujarat topped with the arrivals of highest bags of new crop, as the state mandis witnessed arrivals of 80,000 bags. While local buyers preferred Badami variety, Eagle variety of coriander was in demand from buyers of Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Rajasthan mandis were flooded with new crop arrivals due to which prices witnessed steep drop in the morning session, as coriander fell by Rs 50-100 per Quintal. The state mandis witnessed arrivals of 33,500 bags, of which 21,500 bags reached Ramganj mandi. Nearly 29,000 bags consisted of new coriander on Monday.
After a sharp decline of Rs 150 per Quintal reported during the afternoon session, coriander prices ended Rs 100 per quintal lower by the ending session of the auction today.
Badami variety was quoted at Rs 5380-5550 per Quintal in Ramganj and Eagle variety was priced at Rs 5650-5800 per Quintal. New coriander was quoted at Rs 5,600/Quintal at Kota and Baran mandi. Popular brands actively participated at Kota and Ramganj mandi.
Rajasthan mandi reported arrivals of 4,500 bags of old coriander today. Ramganj mandi witnessed arrivals of 21,500 bags, Kota mandi-- 3,800 bags, Baran mandi- 2200 bags and Jaipur mandi-- 1800 bags.
