NEW DELHI (Commodities control) Guar gum and korma were traded up in spot market of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana. Gum millers also increased seed buying prices on today. According to sources, better demand from gum powder makers pushed prices of guar gum. Guar korma also found support from higher demand.
Guar gum increased Rs. 40 to Rs. 6100 per quintal in Jodhpur. Guar gum powder also gained Rs. 40 per quintal. Traders said that gum powder makers were aggressively buying guar gum. Guar korma rose Rs. 25 to Rs. 3875 per quintal on Jodhpur. According to trade sources, local and export demand was good for guar korma. Korma is mainly consumed for protein products. There are some other applications also for guar korma which is protein rich natural product. Guar korma is exported prominently specifically in the US and the Europe. However, local demand is also picking up from a number of industrial consumers.
