Wheat Prevails Bearish To Steady In Mandis, New Premium Tukdi As High At Rs. 2300/Q

NEW DELHI (Commodities control) Steady to bearish trend was noticed in Wheat prices in mandis of producing states. The prices slipped Rs. 10 per quintal in Delhi and Bareilly. Quality was core issue for last season’s wheat for pricing. The prices remained stable in other mandis of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Premium Tukdi wheat of 3765 variety also arrived in Hadouti mandis of Rajasthan. New wheat arrival estimated at 8000 bags in Hadouti region of Rajasthan. New wheat arrival was up to one lakh bags in Madhya Pradesh mandis.



A trader from Delhi said that stockists and farmers were bringing balance wheat of last season. higher arrival and poor quality weighed on the prices. Mill quality wheat slipped Rs. 10 to Rs. 1840-1850 per quintal. Total arrival increase to 10,000 bags from average arrival of 7000-8000 bags. According to traders, farmers and stockists from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana were trying to clear their stocks before new crop hit the market. Danki, Discolored and powdery wheat was priced lower as it cannot be stored even for 1-2 weeks. Similarly, wheat came down Bareilly mandis.



But the prices were stable in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Rajasthan mandis were receiving old as well as new wheat. Today, new wheat arrival was 8000 bags and old wheat was 6000 bags. Old wheat remained stable in all the mandis of Hadouti. New wheat was traded at Rs. 1600-23000 bags. Mill quality was traded between Rs. 1600-1700 per quintal. But other varieties of premium was priced higher. Premium Tukdi variety 3765 was sold as higher as Rs. 2300 per quintal. The arrival of 3765 variety was around 600-700 bags in Baran mandi. Total new wheat arrival was around 4500 bags in the mandi. In MP, total new arrival was around one lakh bags. The prices were flat. Traders were keeping close eyes on government’s procurement. Wheat prices will gain when the government will begin procurement.
