MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) – Burma Urad FAQ-SQ varieties declined by Rs 50-100/100Kg in Chennai and Delhi market on Wednesday as sellers were active due to sluggish offtake in processed Urad.
On other hand, Urad FAQ variety moved higher by Rs 50/100Kg at Mumbai market on selected mills buying support and less ready imported stock.
While, domestic variety Urad traded mixed, as per quality, at selected markets amid limited mills' buying.
Arrivals of new polished Urad began at Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. Pace of arrivals likely to increase within 10 days and may continue further two months. Crop size is expected to be around 2 lakh tons and also some carry over stock.
Urad FAQ-SQ variety remained unchanged at Burma. No local and overseas trade reported as loading-unloading activity at port has been affected due to strike. As per Burma based local trader, banking transactions and port operations are likely to resume in Myanmar from 4th March, 2021.
As per market sources, prices of Burma Urad SQ variety may under pressure on arrivals of Krishna district crop as demand may shift to new domestic crop due to cheaper rates. Buyers in Chennai are still holding around 1500 containers (36,000 tons) of imported Urad. Urad prices does not got support despite negligible overseas supplies because of regular supply of Urad gota at cheaper rates from Madhya Pradesh.
