New Coriander Sheds Rs 100/Quintal as Crop Arrivals Hit Season's High; Futures End in Green

Jaipur (Commodities Control) - New coriander arrivals in open markets swung higher on the first day of the week, hitting season’s high of 32,500 bags. This spurt in arrivals weighed on coriander prices that fell by Rs 50-100 per Quintal despite buyers activity. Badami and Eagle varieties dropped the most.

Having said so, coriander March'21 futures on NCDEX managed to end Rs 164 higher at Rs 7,340/Quintal


Rajasthan mandi witnessed an uptick in prices during the early session on Monday, however prices crumbled under the weight of rising arrivals of new crop. Badami variety in Ramganj was priced at Rs 5500-5650 and Eagle was quoted at Rs 5700-6000/Quintal. New coriander was quoted in the range of Rs 4200-4400/Quintal on the lower side and Rs 5750-5940 on the higher side. New coriander in Kota and Baran mandi was quoted near the lowest range of Rs 4125/Quintal and Upper grade was priced at Rs 5850 per Quintal.



State mandis registered higher purchases made for spice manufacturing companies. There was demand from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. Stockist are eyeing new crop arrivals as well. The arrivals are seen rising due to favourable weather conditions and clear skies.


Amidst the total arrivals reported in Rajasthan mandis, 28,000 bags consisted of new coriander and rest were of old coriander. Ramganj mandi-- 21,600 bags, Kota mandi--3,800 abgs, Baran mandi-- 2800 bags and Jaipur mandi--1500 bags.
