NEW DELHI (Commodities control) Guar seed prices remained in pressure during auction trading in spot market of Rajasthan, Haryana and Gujarat. But gum prices were stable as trade was thin on week end. Spot market could not get direction from future market on last day of this week.
Guar gum prices lost Rs. 50 to Rs. 3500-3550 per quintal in Rajkot mandi of Gujarat. The seed was priced lower at 3500-3691 per quintal in Adampur mandi where the prices lost Rs. 24 per quintal. However, the prices managed to gain Rs. 8 per quintal at Rs. 3425-3666 per quintal in Sriganganagar mandi of Rajasthan. Guar seed and gum prices remained stable in Jodhpur. Weaker export of guar gum was bearish factor for market sentiments. According to trade sources, guar gum and seed prices cannot get sustainable support until better export demand. The market was desperately looking for better demand from crude oil and gas industry where guar gum powder is natural product for exploration.
