NEW DELHI (Commodities control) Wheat prices turned to positive in Madhya Pradesh after Rajasthan. The prices gained further in Rajasthan mandis while millers in MP increased buying prices as they wanted to attract sellers. Wheat prices remained stable in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. But the arrival reduced to mere 4000-5000 bags in Delhi as there was disturbance at Haryana border caused by Kissan agitation.

Wheat prices increased Rs. 25 to Rs. 1625-1650 per quintal in Bhopal mandis as millers have increased their buying prices. According to a trader, millers prompted for fresh buying as they need to restock for normal production. They was absent from the market as they expected lowering the prices. Now they feel no further price cut as of now so they came back in the market. Earlier, lower quality wheat was sold as low as Rs. 1600 per quintal but lowest price range improved to 1625 per quintal. However, upper prices remained same at Rs. 1650 per quintal. Wheat arrival reduced to 10,000-12000 bags for previous day’s supply of around 20,000 bags in Bhopal division. The prices steadied in Indore but it was likely to gain on coming Monday.

Upward trend continued in Rajasthan mandis as millers and buyers from southern India were buying wheat regularly. Mill quality wheat increased up to Rs. 15 per quintal in mandis of Hadouti region of Rajasthan. Higher quality Duplicate Sharbati wheat gain in Kota mandis but slipped in Baran mandis.

The prices were flat in Delhi mandis as buyers remained silent on week end. Limited buying from millers did not support any price rise. However, wheat supply reduced to 4000-5000 bags in Delhi as the supply disrupted from Haryana and Punjab. Around 75 percent wheat is being supplied from government’s warehouses in Haryana and Punjab. Currently, last season’s (RSQ) wheat is being issued at Rs. 1840 per quintal while normal prices are prescribed at Rs. 2080 per quintal (Ex Ludhiana). Current lower arrival did not allow price rise as millers’ demand was limited. Muted trend prevailed in Kanpur and Bareilly.
