NEW DELHI (Commodities control) Down fall continued in spot mustard seed prices in the producing states of north India. Total arrival was increasing in all over the region. New mustard arrival was increasing in various mandis. Market sentiments remained bearish on new arrivals.
New mustard seed was traded at Rs. 5950-5955 (GST Extra) with loss of Rs. 100 per quintal in Jaipur. Old mustard seed also slipped Rs. 100 to Rs. 5970-5975 per quintal. Mustard oil and oil cake prices also slipped down on bearish trend. However, mustard future contracts turned to bullish. Mustard seed arrival increased from 100,000 bags to 115,000 bags in all over the country. Around 50, 000 bags new mustard seed arrived in mandis. Earlier, 30,000 bags new mustard seed arrived in mandis.
Today, mustard seed prices slipped as sentiments turned to bearish as new crop arrival increased in mandis. Higher arrival will dragged down prices further. Millers and processors did not show much interest for buying as they were cautious for fresh buying. They have already procured comfortable stock for their crushing.
New Mustard seed (42 percent condition) was traded at Rs. 5950-5955 per quintal (GST Extra) in Jaipur. Earlier, it was traded at Rs. Rs. 6050-6055 per quintal.Old mustard seed of same quality came down to Rs. 5970-5975 per quintal (GST Extra) in Jaipur. Earlier, it was traded at Rs. Rs. 6070-6075 per quintal. Mustard oil prices also decreased to Rs. 1185-1186 in Jaipur and 1175-1176 per 10 kilogram in adjoining areas. Earlier, It was traded at Rs. 1205-1206 in Jaipur and 1195-1196 per 10 kilogram in adjoining areas. Mustard oil cake fell down today to Rs. 2590-2595 per quintal. Earlier, it was traded at Rs. 2620-2625 per quintal.
Total arrival was 115,000 quintal including new arrival of 50,000 bags in across the country. State arrival of old crop- Rajasthan 30,000, MP 5,000, UP 10,000, HP 5,000, Gujarat 5000 and other states 10,000 bags.
NCDEX also witnessed bullish trend in the oil seed contracts. February contract decreased Rs. 3 at Rs. 5581 per quintal. April contract up Rs. 67 to Rs. 4977 per quintal. May contract up Rs. 49 at Rs. 54960 per quintal.
