Indore (Commoditiescontrol) – : Weak futures and decline in buying support at the higher rate dragged chana in Indore mandis today by Rs 100 with chana (kanta) today declining to Rs 5,000 a quintal.
In Neemuch mandi also chana traded low on weak demand with chana (kanta) today deckining to Rs 4600-Rs 4750, while chana (vishal) was quoted at Rs 4650-Rs 5151 a quintal.Yesterday chana in Indore mandis had gained Rs 100 amidst report of fixing of base price in chana by the NAFED.
Given enthusiastic crop reports and rise in the sowing area this year, a long rally in chana appears unlikely in the coming days, said Prakash Vora, a wholesale chana trader here.
Weak demand from the millers and decline in spot chana also dragged its dal with chana dal (average) today being quoted at Rs 6200-Rs 6300, chana dal (medium) at Rs 6400-Rs 6500, while chana dal (bold) ruled at Rs 6600-Rs 6700 a quintal.
Amidst scattered demand dollar chana in Indore mandis today was quoted at Rs 5500-Rs 6500 a quintal. In Neemuch mandi dollar chana (best quality) today was quoted at Rs 5720-Rs 6005, dollar chana (medium) at Rs 5240-Rs 5610, while dollar chana (infected quality) ruled at Rs 4560-Rs 5000 a quintal.
In containers, dollar chana (42/44) count today fetche Rs 6800, dollar chana (44/46) count at Rs 6600, while dollar chana (58/60) count ruled at Rs 6000 a quintal respectively.
The arrival of dollar chana in Indore mandis today today declined to 1500 bags against 8000 bags in mandisacross Madhya Pradesh.
