MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) – Burma Urad extended rise for second straight day by Rs 100/100Kg in Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi markets on Thursday, due to improved millers' trade on immediate crushing requirement and less imported stock.

However, offtake in processed Urad continues to be thin.

Similarly, new domestic variety Urad traded higher by Rs 100-200/100Kg, as per quality, at selected markets amid mills' buying and ongoing arrivals.

As per Guntur based local trader, weak demand for polished urad has been reported from Tamil Nadu and Indore .

Arrivals of new Urad are likely to begin within a fortnight at Kurnool district (Rayalaseema, Nandyal, Allagadda and Nandikotkur) and Nellore district (Kavali) of Andhra Pradesh.

Krishnur district arrivals of new Urad will begin from February end 2021.
