Mumbai (Commodities Control) - Maharashtra cotton prices were steady on Thursday due to weak stockists selling at lower price levels, while daily arrivals rose. The fibre dipped Rs 200-300 per Candy in the last session.
CCI procurement is expected to pick pace in Maharashtra, while international markets are seen heading higher. This will aid price rise in domestic markets too. Traders reveal that weather conditions continue to be favourable in the producing regions of Maharashtra, except for a few cloudy areas. Daily cotton arrivals were registered at 57,000 bales vs 51,000 bales in the last session.
