Cotton Prices Hold Steady in A.P-Telangana due to Restricted Mill Buying

Mumbai (Commodities Control) - Cotton prices were steady on Saturday in Andhra Pradesh-Telangana for the second consecutive session, amid weak mill buying. The fibre went up Rs 200-300 per candy on Thursday due to improved demand by yarn millers at Andhra Pradesh-Telangana mandis.

Traders reveal that crops have been severely damaged due to incessant and untimely rains in the states. Crop quality has been affected, due to which mill buying is restricted.

Today market arrivals were quoted at 6,950 bales, similar to that in the last session.

Guntur (29mm) - Rs 37,800-38,000

Adoni - Rs 39,800- 40,000

New Cotton (RD72/77) - Rs 36,000-38,000

Warangal (29mm) - Rs. 37,500 - 41,400
