Mumbai (Commodities Control) - Spot coriander prices were mixed across major mandis in India. M.P mandis were shut and did not report any trade/arrivals, while Baran and Kota mandis registered price rise for selective varieties. Prices dropped at Gondal mandi, while they were steady at Rajkot mandi.

On futures, coriander prices ended at Rs 6,732 per quintal for October futures, up Rs 148 and Rs 168 higher for November futures to settle at Rs 6800 per Quintal. Prices shot up by Rs 250 in the last three trading sessions. Analysts attribute this rise to a firm trend in the spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions.

Coriander prices were quoted steady for all the varieties at Ramganj mandi. The mandi registered arrivals of 3,000 bags vs 4,000 bags of coriander in the last session. Meanwhile, Kota mandi reported arrivals of 2,000 bags vs 1,500 bags in the last session and arrivals were unchanged in Baran mandi at 1500 bags.

Coriander prices were quoted Rs 100 higher for Badami variety in Kota mandi at Rs 5300-5700 per Quintal, while rest other varieties were priced flat. Meanwhile, Eagle variety upped Rs 100 in Baran to be quoted close to 6,000 per Quintal, while Badami variety was quoted unchanged here.

It is interesting to note that coriander prices for all the varieties were priced flat, despite arrivals of increased 1100 bags vs 200 bags in the previous session, at Rajkot mandi of Gujarat. Badami variety was quoted flat at Rs 1100-1180 per 20 Kgs and Eagle variety was priced at Rs 1130-1230 per 20 Kgs. Scooter variety in Rajkot was quoted at Rs 1180-1280 per 20 Kgs.
