Mumbai (commodities control) - Cotton prices were have been steady in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana mandis throughout the week, amid weak mill demand. Arrivals have been frail due to negligible liquidation by stockists. Traders note that arrivals of new cotton crop will accelerate next month onwards, while output is estimated to be higher. This explains restricted buys from yarn millers.
Together, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh reported arrivals of 1,900 bales vs 2,000 bales in the previous session.
30-31 mm in Guntur mandi was quoted at Rs 36,500-37,500 and 29mm was priced at Rs 35,500-36,000 per candy.
Meanwhile prices in Adoni mandi of Telangana were quoted at Rs 36,400-36,500 per candy. 29 mm cotton in Bhainsa mandi of Telangana was quoted at Rs 35,500-35,700 and 29.5+mm cotton was priced steady at Rs 36,000-36,500 per candy.
Meanwhile 29mm cotton in Warangal was quoted steady at Rs 36,400-36,800 and 29.5+ mm was priced at Rs 36,000-36,500 per candy.29.5 mm was priced at Rs 36,700-37,500 per candy.
