MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) – Canada crimson variety at Mumbai, Hazira and Mundra remained firm by Rs 25-30/100Kg, on Saturday, amid mill buying on immediate requirement for crushing.

However, availability of imported raw and processed Masoor stock at cheaper rates, limited offtake in processed Masoor and reduced import duty by 20 per cent will limit the gains.

On the other hand, domestic Masoor was steady in major markets of Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh due to limited mills' buying, for immediate crushing requirement.

Moreover, trade activity was also thin as major markets of Madhya Pradesh was closed in protest against government to reduce mandi tax.

In Delhi, Canada-origin Masoor gained Rs 50/100kg on mill buying for immediate crushing requirement. while, Madhya Pradesh-origin Masoor priced unchanged.

As per market talk, Masoor prices likely to get some support at prevailing rates due to cheaper rates compare to other pulses and also hikes in MSP to Rs 5,100/100Kg.

Demand of seeds for sowing is also expected as rabi sowing will be began from October.
