Mumbai (Commodities control) – New kharif Moong traded higher for second straight day by Rs 100-200, as per quality, in Karnataka, Maharashtra and Rajasthan on Wednesday, amid better mill buying against ongoing arrivals.

However, moisture content was noted to be higher in new Moong arrivals, at Karnataka and Maharashtra, due to rains and cloudy weather. Quality may be further damaged due to forecast of rains as well.

Buyers are interested in good quality supplies, for immediate processing requirement.

Demand and sale counters in processed Moong reported limited participation.

Similarly, old Moong also gained for second straight day Rs 100-200/100kg, as per quality, in markets of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan due to demand from local and outstation millers against regular arrivals.

Moong kharif production during 2020-21 is estimated higher 16.76 % at 2.09 million tonnes Vs 1.79 million tonnes in 2019-20 (fourth advance estimate).
