Mustard Crosses Rs. 5500/Q in Jaipur On Strong Buying, Oil And Meal Also Up

NEW DELHI (Commodities control) Mustard seed crossed mark of Rs. 5500 today in Jaipur market. The oilseed rose Rs. 50 to Rs. 5520-5525 per quintal. Mustard oil and meal also gained. Market sources said that the prices increased as stockists and processors were buying aggressively.

Mustard seed gained Rs. 50 at Rs. 5520-5525 per quintal (GST Extra) in Jaipur market. Mustard seed was priced earlier at Rs. 5470-5475 per quintal. Mustard oil was also traded at higher prices. Today, Mustard oil priced at Rs. 1104-1105 in Jaipur and Rs. 1094-1095 per 10 kg in adjoining areas. Earlier, the oil priced at Rs. 1097-1098 in Jaipur and Rs. 1087-1088 per 10 kg in adjoining areas.

Mustard oil cake remained also increased Rs. 20 to Rs. 2265-2270 per quintal. Total arrival was estimated at 125,000 quintal in across the country. State wise arrival- Rajasthan 65,000, MP 10,000 UP 20000, HP 5,000, Gujarat 5000,and other states 20,000 bags. There was no trading in future market today. But mustard traders did not look at sentiments in futures but they considered fundamental facts.

According to sources of market, stockists and oil millers were active in markets. Although, Kharif oilseed may dampen sentiments but processors expect that mustard prices will not come down. A portion of mustard demand will not shift to other edible oils due to specific taste and colour. It may be noted that mustard crop lowered during last Rabi season. Higher consumption during last few months pushed up prices. Mustard oil was considered as immunity booster amid covid-19.
