Mumbai (Commodities Control) - Spot jeera prices upped Rs 15-20 per 20 kgs in Unjha mandi of Gujarat due to lower level buying from exporters and spice manufacturers. Even futures prices firmed taking cues from spot markets. NCDEX September contract upped Rs 185 to settle at Rs 14160 per Quintal.

Unjha registered arrivals of nearly 11,000 bags, as Rough jeera was quoted at Rs 1960-2235, up Rs 50 and NCDEX variety rose Rs 20 to be priced at Rs 2340-2525, up Rs 20. Best quality was quoted Rs 20 higher at Rs 2540-2640 per 20 Kgs. Rajkot mandi was closed today on the occasion of Janmashtami.

Traders reveal that most of the jeera mandis were shut due to which Unjha mandi witnessed better demand.
