Jeera: Futures Crack, Spot Prices Steady

Mumbai (commodities Control) - Jeera July tanked heavily due to its expiry closing in. The contract gave up Rs 170 to settle at Rs 13,625 quintal. Meanwhile, most active NCDEX August contract slipped Rs 50 to settle at Rs13,680 per quintal.

The difference between the two contract has narrowed to negligible as compared with last week. Although spot jeera prices were steady amid average trade reported in Unjha mandi of Gujarat. Unjha mandi hasn't reported any auction due to rising cases of Corona virus in the region. Although Rajkot witnessed arrivals of 800 bags, as Europe quality was quoted at Rs 2590-2650 and Singapore variety was priced at Rs 2479-2550 per 20 kgs. Meanwhile Super quality was quoted at Rs 2675-2695 per 20 kgs. According to the traders, auction will take place in Unjha mandi every alternate day due to mounting virus cases.
