NAFED's Push For Tenders Halts Uptrend In Indore Pulse Seeds

Indore (Commoditiescontrol) – : Increased release of pulse seeds in mandis against NAFED's tenders and weak physical demand reined the rising price trend in Chana and other pulse seeds.Chana (kanta) today was quoted at Rs 4,250-75 a quintal.


Sluggish demand dragged dollar Chana to Rs 5,000-Rs 5,500. In containers, too, dollar Chana traded low on weak export demand. dollar Chana (42/44 count) today was quoted at Rs 6,400 a quintal, dollar Chana (44/46 count) today fetched Rs 6,200, while dollar Chana (58/60 count) was quoted at Rs 5,,300 at a quintal. 3000 bags of dollar Chana arrivals were registered in Indore mandis.



According to Asish Pandya, a local Chana trader, even as rains in Nimar region of Madhya Pradesh has affected supply of dollar Chana and other pulse seeds, demand in dollar Chana and other pulse seeds continues to be weak, leading to fall in its prices.

The rise in arrival of the small size and poor qualaity Moong from Nimar region has also dragged Moong with Moong (best) today declining to Rs 6,300 a quintal, while Moong (average) was quoted at Rs 4,800-Rs 5,500.

Urad also traded low at Rs 6,200-Rs 6,300, while Urad (average) declined to Rs 4,000-Rs 5,500.

Similarly bearish sentiments prevailed in tur with tur (Nimari) today being quoted at Rs 4,800-Rs 5,400, tur (Maharashtra) - Rs 5,700-Rs 5,750, while Tur (Karnataka) declined to Rs 5,850 a quintal respectively.
